We’re looking for a Site Reliability Engineer who can help us build, operate, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and reliable services for our production infrastructure. Site Reliability Engineers combine engineering experience and an innate drive to improve existing systems and processes, with the creativity to develop novel solutions to evolving challenges. Our team strives to automate processes wherever possible, using whichever tools are best for the job.We strongly believe in engineering teams being responsible for the operations of their services in production. In this role, you’ll work closely with engineers to advocate and participate in sensible, scalable, systems design and share responsibility with them in diagnosing, resolving, and preventing production issues.Our Sydney office is 30 people total, so it's a startup environment with the backing of a larger company.Team<ul><li>This role is on our database operations team and will primarily be dealing with Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and Kafka. The role is half support to ensure reliability of our products, and half project-based to build automations and tooling that transforms how the company thinks operationally about databases. It sounds like a database-centric role might not be the best fit if it's not an area of interest.</li><li>NY has lots of overlap w/ EU and APAC in regular working hours. Relatively easy handoff process. Pretty seamless handoff overall.</li><li>8 members in Database Operations.</li><li>Interesting theme of everyone on the team - lots of initiative to read up on products, doresearch. General interest in foundational understanding of databases, how to keep things online, how to operate. Strong opinions. The Role


We’re looking for a Site Reliability Engineer who can help us build, operate, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and reliable services for our production infrastructure. Site Reliability Engineers combine engineering experience and an innate drive to improve existing systems and processes, with the creativity to develop novel solutions to evolving challenges. We strongly believe in engineering teams being responsible for the operations of their services in production. In this role, you’ll work closely with engineers to advocate and participate in sensible, scalable, systems design and share responsibility with them in diagnosing, resolving, and preventing production issues.
Core Responsibilities
Think about systems — their edge cases, failure modes, and life cycles - and how to improve the long-term reliability and scalability of Palantir’s services.
Design, build, and maintain core services and infrastructure used by Palantir.
Participate in operations, including on-call rotations most business hours and every sixth weekend.
Help debug, improve, and optimise Palantir’s services and infrastructure.
What We Value
Confidence in troubleshooting complex systems issues independently using observability tools and stack traces.
Ability to identify and automate highly manual tasks.
Comfort with large scale production systems and technologies - for example, load balancing, monitoring, distributed systems, or configuration management.
Proficiency with programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
Ability to work with a high level of autonomy and responsibility in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users.
Demonstrated ability to continuously learn and drive ongoing improvements within and across teams.

As a Software Engineer at NodeKit, you will work closely with the founding team to build highly performant systems on the bleeding edge of blockchain technology. Your primary focus will be developing the core systems built on top of SEQ, including the transaction processing, block building, storage systems, and maintaining compatibility with existing rollups building on top of SEQ.





Responsibilities

Contribute to design and development of SEQ and other key components of NodeKit’s blockchain infrastructure.

Write production-ready software, primarily in Go and Rust

Execute projects in a timely manner from initial design to development.

Skills & Qualifications

Software development experience required

Experience building performance-optimized systems preferred

Experience with one or more backend language (Go, Rust, C++)

Preferred Experience

Experience working on a L1 or L2 Blockchain in the past 

Familiarity with distributed systems

Passion for building blockchain based systems
