“If you want to work with the best companies in the U.S., and if you want to have the opportunity to see your growth and profits double or triple, you’ve got to join. It’s a no brainer.”
When Cam Farmer started Cabana, he knew where he wanted to recruit in the U.S. market.
For a UK-based recruiter specializing in software engineering talent, the opportunity was obvious. The U.S. had the startups he admired, the engineering teams he wanted to support, and the kind of upside that could change the trajectory of his business.
But breaking in wasn’t simple.
“I was essentially starting my entire recruitment journey from scratch. I didn’t have any connections within the U.S. It was an entirely new field for me.”
Cam first came across Paraform in 2024 while researching companies on LinkedIn. At the time, he was doing business development and looking for U.S. companies to approach. Then he realized many of the companies he wanted to work with were already on the platform.
“They work with the companies I want to be working with already. This is almost too good to be true.”
He was skeptical at first. But after speaking with co-founder John and hearing where the platform was headed, Cam became an early believer.
“Everything he [John] said to me made sense. He told me what the platform was, what you could achieve from it, and where the platform was going.”
Two years later, Cam says that early promise has become reality.
“Everything he said has come to flourish. The payouts are bigger, like he said they would be. It was just a matter of time.”
Now, Cam is placing FDEs and technical talent at companies like Palantir, Hex, and Vellum AI - companies he once only dreamed of working with from the outside.
The platform also changed how Cam spends his time. Instead of spending the majority of his energy on business development, he can focus on candidates and placements.
“The amount of time I used to spend with business development has significantly reduced. spend a lot more time now speaking directly with candidates, getting them sent across, which is increasing profitability across the business.”
Paraform has also helped Cam sharpen his approach to the U.S. market. Through clearer feedback loops and visibility into what hiring teams are actually looking for, he has been able to understand patterns faster: which profiles move forward, why candidates get rejected, and what top U.S. startups expect from technical talent.
For Cam, Paraform has become more than another recruiting platform. It has become a core part of how he is building Cabana, giving him access to the kinds of clients he wanted from day one while helping him spend more time on the work that drives placements.
For UK recruiters trying to break into the U.S. market, the value is clear: Paraform gives strong recruiters access to the companies they want to work with, while helping them spend less time chasing clients and more time making placements.
