About the role
We're hiring a senior backend engineer to join our team and focus on system architecture behind a lot of our most popular products.
Things you'll be working on
Architecting and implementing backend systems in Typescript/Node is the core of what you’ll be doing. Real examples include —
Designing and building an ingestion pipeline for our analytics/insights products (> 99.99% uptime on Kafka, Clickhouse, Redis)
Spiking on our CI/CD to improve stability
Build out durable/distributed cart/hosting for our ecommerce product
Deploying a multi-tenant NextJS app for shops in Cloudflare
Mentoring junior engineers on best-practices
Tech stack
We have a TypeScript mono-repo. Our stuff is hosted on Vercel and Fly.io with a Postgres DB. We use Sentry, Mezmo, Grafana, etc for logging and alerting. On our analytics products, we use Kafka and Clickhouse.
If you're not familiar with Typescript, that's ok as long as you're down to learn a new language!
What does a typical week look like for engineers?
We have week-long sprints and standup every day (except Wednesdays). We try to minimize meetings for engineers because we believe everyone should be on a Maker's Schedule by default. We aggressively use Linear/Notion, and buy GPT/Cursor accounts for everyone.
