What we're looking for
We need someone with 3+ years of hands-on IT experience who has been an early dedicated IT hire at a high-growth startup. You should be comfortable building IT and security infrastructure from scratch in a fast-moving environment and have a track record of right-sizing controls that reduce real risk without adding unnecessary friction. Bonus points if you have scripting/automation skills and familiarity with Rippling.
What you'll do:
Own device management across a Mac/Apple fleet end-to-end: provisioning, MDM, disk encryption, patch management, and onboarding/offboarding
Administer Google Workspace and the wider SaaS and identity stack (SSO, MFA, SCIM provisioning), enforcing least-privilege access and running regular access reviews
Stand up and run the help desk and day-to-day IT support — build the workflows, set the tooling, and keep employees unblocked
Maintain security hygiene across the company: MFA, encryption, access reviews, application inventory, and install/allowlisting policies that balance safety with employee autonomy
Own a right-sized compliance program (SOC 2 or similar): policy authorship, control implementation, evidence collection, and audit support without over-building
Secure and tune local network and on-prem infrastructure: firewalls, VPN, Wi-Fi, segmentation, and office network performance
Build security and compliance from first principles, implementing what reduces real risk without adding needless friction
Manage IT vendors and/or external MSPs: scope what to outsource vs. keep in-house, select partners, and own the relationships and SLAs
Evaluate, procure, and manage IT and security tooling, owning the budget for the function

Giga's Operations team is the backbone of a company scaling at breakneck speed — from ~10 people to 75+ in just six months. Rather than a traditional, siloed org, Operations at Giga has been the "kitchen sink" that touches everything, and is now evolving into a structured G&A function with true owners across each vertical.
You'll be joining a team that values first-principles thinking and high agency. The culture here is defined by speed, autonomy, and pragmatism — the team explicitly prioritizes what reduces real risk over what just adds process. Leadership has engineering backgrounds and strong technical intuition, which means you'll work with people who understand your domain and can engage substantively on trade-offs.
The broader Giga team includes world-class engineering and sales orgs, backed by YC (with investment from President Garry Tan), Redpoint Ventures, and Nexus Venture Partners. The company works with Fortune 500 customers like DoorDash and Toast, handling 40k+ tickets per day — so the internal infrastructure you build directly supports a product that impacts millions of people daily.
This is a team where individual contributors have real latitude to shape how the company operates, with direct visibility into executive-level decisions and the trust to build functions from the ground up.
