This is a super-IC / principal product seat, not a PM-manager role. You run a team of agents, not a team of PMs. You'll be a systems thinker who can hold consumer, subscription, enterprise, and API products in your head simultaneously, making them sharp and unified after eight years of growth by accretion. You'll operate with AI agents doing the production work of product management, replacing what used to require a team of six to eight PMs. This role reports directly to the Founder & CEO and is a rare opportunity to define the next chapter of a category-creating company as it expands globally.
What will you be doing?
Architect one coherent product out of eight years of features — live video, incidents, alerts, Protect, Premium, enterprise consoles, and API — so everything after it ships faster
Own the core consumer product loops (activation, retention, daily engagement) and the subscription business (pricing, packaging, plan mix, upgrade path, and every dollar of consumer revenue)
Drive the enterprise product, API packaging, and partner integrations that put Citizen inside the systems cities, hospitals, campuses, and private security teams already run
Build and operate a team of AI agents that handle discovery synthesis, competitive reads, spec drafts, experiment design, forecasting, and launch documentation — you decide, they draft
Own metrics and experimentation end-to-end: conversion, retention, enterprise expansion, and the product inputs to the revenue plan, defending variance before anyone asks
Citizen is the No. 1 public safety app in the U.S., with a mission to make the world a safer place. In addition to serving millions of individuals, Citizen Enterprise delivers real-time situational intelligence to organizations, cities, and teams that need to make fast, informed decisions when it matters most.
Citizen provides 911 alerts so people can use their phones to keep themselves, and the people and places they love, safe. Citizen has notified people to evacuate burning buildings, deterred school buses from nearby terrorist attacks, and led to the rescue of kidnapped children and missing people.
Citizen’s alerts are accompanied by live stories, real-time updates, and user-generated content so app users never have to wonder why there are helicopters overhead or fire engines flying by. By broadcasting from the scene of an incident, communicating with one another, and reading live updates, communities are empowered by Citizen. We act fast, break news, and give people the immediate information they need to stay safe.
Citizen Enterprise extends real-time awareness to organizations, offering advanced incident categorization, configurable alerts, and city-wide visibility to support public safety teams, corporate security, real estate operators, event organizers, and municipalities. The platform enables organizations to detect risks earlier, reduce noise, and respond with confidence by utilizing live, verified incident data.
Our flagship paid product, Citizen Premium, currently unlocks 5 new features, including the powerful ability to listen to police and fire radios, unlock past incidents, create alert zones, view nearby registered offenders, and family plan to share your subscription with up to five people at no additional cost.
Citizen is backed by 8VC, Founders Fund, Goodwater Capital, and Greycroft and has raised tens of millions in VC funding. https://vimeo.com/499700748

You'll inherit real budget, agency relationships, and a product with unusual pull — Citizen is the #1 public safety app in the U.S., serving millions of users and a growing roster of enterprise clients. The source material for storytelling is unmatched: every day, the platform surfaces real incidents where lives are saved, communities are connected, and neighbors step up. No other brand in the category has this archive or this network.
The team operates at startup tempo — shipping in days, not weeks — and leans heavily on AI-native workflows to move faster with fewer people. You'll work cross-functionally with product, enterprise sales, and the creator roster, with the autonomy to decide what matters and the expectation that you'll build the machine that makes it all compound.
This is a team for builders, not coordinators. If you thrive on ownership, speed, and the chance to shape a category-defining brand from a leadership seat, this is the opportunity.
