We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience who has shipped high-impact consumer-facing features at startups or high-growth companies. You should be comfortable operating with full ownership — from product research and design through implementation and measurement — and have a track record of building features that drive user growth and engagement. Bonus points if you have experience mentoring junior engineers and working on mobile or social consumer apps.
Responsibilities
Own features end-to-end — research, design, architect, implement, test, launch, measure, and support new iOS and Android app features
Build full-stack features using Python/Django, Postgres, and Angular/Ionic, shipping directly to millions of users
Work closely with the CTO, CEO, and other engineers to prioritize and build features that drive user growth, engagement, and retention
Conduct product and quantitative research to inform feature design and prioritization — there are no PMs, so you'll think like one
Lead new feature development across search, recommendations, partnerships (e.g., Tinder, reservation/delivery integrations), translation, computer vision, and shareable content
Mentor junior engineers and help establish engineering best practices as the team scales from ~3 engineers to 7+
Run A/B tests and data analyses to measure feature impact and identify improvement opportunities
Interact directly with users through feedback and support channels to inform what you build
