About this role

Closure is a YC-backed startup founded by former Palantir and Israeli Defense Force engineers, focused on bringing cutting-edge AI tools to law enforcement agencies across the U.S. Their platform acts as a digital analyst for investigators, helping surface critical insights from complex evidence like jail calls, phone extractions, and interviews. Actively deployed with real departments nationwide, Closure has played a role in solving high-stakes cases, including cold-case homicides and serial crimes. The company is lean, mission-driven, and backed by top investors including CRV, Box Group, and Liquid 2, with a strong emphasis on meaningful work, rapid iteration, and deep customer empathy.

The Forward Deployed Engineer role sits at the intersection of product and user impact. This position involves embedding directly with law enforcement users to understand their workflows, build trust, and implement Closure’s technology in real-world environments. Engineers will travel extensively to customer sites, working alongside the founding team to translate field needs into product improvements and technical solutions. You'll be expected to contribute immediately to customer-facing work, operating with a high level of autonomy and ownership while playing a critical role in both delivery and product evolution.

Role requires travel 25% - 75% of the time.
