What we're looking for
We're seeking a Senior Product Engineer with 5+ years of experience building polished, complex user-facing products to join our team building AI-powered workflows for marketers. You'll need strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills, excellent communication abilities, and a "lives to ship code" mentality to thrive in our collaborative environment.
What you'll do
Design and implement intuitive user interfaces for our expert agents platform, translating complex AI capabilities into seamless user experiences
Collaborate closely with our design team to create polished, user-friendly interfaces that help marketers leverage AI effectively
Work with our "Builder pod" team to integrate front-end experiences with our AI-powered backend workflows using the OpenAI SDK
Own features from conception to delivery, ensuring they meet our high standards for quality and performance
Contribute to product decisions based on user feedback and analytics to continuously improve our platform
Optimize performance of complex interfaces handling real-time data from various marketing platforms
Help scale our expert agent offerings from our current 6 workflows to potentially 100+ workflows
Example challenge
You'll be working on expanding our expert agent offerings to help marketers create high-performing ad creative. In this challenge, you'll need to design and implement an interface that allows marketers to:
Upload their brand assets and performance data
Interact with our AI agent to specify their creative needs and constraints
Review AI-generated recommendations and creative concepts
Provide feedback to refine the output
Export finalized creative directly to their ad platforms
The interface needs to handle complex data visualizations showing past performance metrics while maintaining a clean, intuitive experience that doesn't overwhelm users with technical complexity. You'll need to work closely with our design team to create an experience that feels magical yet keeps the user in control of the creative process, and with our backend team to ensure the frontend properly leverages our AI capabilities.

The team culture at Motion is characterized by low-ego collaboration and genuine empathy. Everyone is willing to lend a hand regardless of the task size - no job is too big or small for anyone. We value clear communication and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Many team members have worked together previously, either at Shoelace (our co-founders' previous company) or at other companies in Portugal. This creates a strong foundation of trust and collaboration. While about half the team has significant tenure working together, we also have newer team members who have integrated well into our culture.
The work environment is relatively flat in structure with minimal hierarchy, though we do have an engineering manager and a staff engineer. Our engineers tend to be naturally curious people with deep interests outside of work - whether that's video games, flying (like Woos), or other passions. This creates a team of "tinkerers" who bring creative problem-solving approaches to their work.
We operate in a synchronous culture with daily standups and regular check-ins. Eastern Time Zone alignment is important, with meetings typically starting around 9-10am Eastern. While we're remote-first with team members across Canada, UK, Portugal, and Spain, we maintain a highly collaborative environment where teamwork and communication are prioritized.
Having recently raised our Series B funding of $30 million, we're in an exciting growth phase focused on expanding our AI-powered expert agent workflows from our current six to potentially hundreds more.
