Founding Software Engineer (Customer Experience)
$160,000 – $200,000 base salary + competitive equity
We are looking for a Software Engineer with 1–4 years of experience to own the technical side of enterprise sales and deployment at Hyperscale — an AI-native startup automating back-office operations for major US trucking fleets. You'll work directly with founders, customers, and engineering to take agentic AI systems from demo to production, blending deep technical work with real customer impact.
What will you be doing?
Lead technical discovery, design POCs, and run tailored demos tied to each prospect's workflows and pain points
Travel on-site to customer locations (~10% travel) to embed with operations teams, scope integrations, and write code to unblock deals
Scope and execute pilot programs with clear success metrics (call resolution rate, time savings, CSAT) and build ROI models
Support end-to-end onboarding: data mapping, workflow configuration, API/webhook integrations, and go-live
Act as the bridge between customers and the product/engineering team, surfacing edge cases and shaping the roadmap
Key Requirements
1–4 years of software engineering experience (full stack), ideally at a high-growth B2B company
Strong foundation in APIs, webhooks, and system architecture — you've built and shipped real products end to end
High agency and comfort with ambiguity — you figure things out from scratch without a playbook
Genuine enthusiasm for customer-facing work — you're an engineer who actually wants to talk to customers
Willingness to travel on-site to customer locations and be embedded in their operational world
Hyperscale is building the AI command center for fleet operations — a single AI agent that takes actions across 10+ disparate systems (TMS, telematics, safety, dispatch) that trucking carriers use today.
Mission: Usher fleet operations into the AI era by automating high-volume back-office workflows with agentic AI. Hyperscale enables carriers' back offices to do 10x the work per person, scaling their businesses more leanly while delivering better business metrics.
What We Do: Hyperscale's AI-native intelligence layer plugs into all the tools that physical operations businesses use — trucking companies, freight brokers, and more — and automates all the repetitive communications and knowledge work. The product is already deployed with some of the largest fleets in the US, autonomously handling ~70% of tasks with strong customer satisfaction.
Culture: Built by ex-Samsara engineers and fleet operators, Hyperscale maintains a very high talent bar with a flat structure. The team is scrappy, AI-native in its workflows, and deeply customer-obsessed. Small team, moving fast, and backed by top investors.

Who We Are: Hyperscale is a small, tight-knit team of ex-Samsara engineers and fleet operators who are building the future of trucking operations with AI. Currently around 8 people, the team operates with a flat structure where everyone rolls up their sleeves and moves fast.
What It's Like to Work Here:
High talent bar — every team member is exceptional at what they do
AI-native workflows — we build the company the way we build the product
Customer-obsessed — tight feedback loops between sales, product, engineering, and customers
Founder-led and scrappy — direct access to co-founders with immediate impact on strategy
In-office in San Francisco — we value collaboration and speed
We're doubling the team this year and backed by top VCs. If you like building from zero, working closely with founders, and having outsized impact at the earliest stage, Hyperscale is the place.
