Aktos is hiring a Platform Engineer for our team!As we build the foundation for SRE at Aktos, this person will play a critical role in shaping our infrastructure and operational excellence in addition to being a full backend software engineer. Leveraging battle-tested technologies such as Kubernetes, Postgres, and AWS, they will go beyond managing infrastructure to build tools that enable our engineers to create performant, scalable, and resilient applications. However, since we are a small team, we will expect them to be a fully functioning backend software engineer as well. The Position
As we build the foundation for SRE at Aktos, you will play a critical role in shaping our infrastructure and operational excellence. Leveraging battle-tested technologies such as Kubernetes, Postgres, and AWS, you will go beyond managing infrastructure to build tools that enable our engineers to create performant, scalable, and resilient applications.

Responsibilities
Compliance and Security:
Provide SOC-2 compliance guidance.
Automate compliance processes.
Performance and Reliability:
Conduct performance testing and database health & tuning.
Maintain and enhance our Kubernetes clusters.
Monitoring and Automation:
Improve monitoring systems and update alerts.
Automate deployments and developer environments.
CI/CD and Developer Support:
Explore and implement CI/CD options.
Maintain developer environments and CI pipelines.
On-Call Responsibilities:
Provide on-call support to ensure system reliability and performance. (On-call rotations are designed to be fair and prevent burnout)

Who You Are
Experienced with Technologies:

5+ Years of DevOps Experience
Professional experience with containers (Docker, etc) (5+ years required)

Strong fundamental understanding and usage of a RDBMS [Postgres preferred]
In-depth knowledge and hands on experience with monitoring solutions [Prometheus, Loki, DataDog, Sentry, etc]
